A Letter From the Superintendent - Sing a New Song-- May 8
My thanks to those of you who completed our survey. The results were shared with the staff and discussed at our weekly check in meeting on Wednesday. We especially appreciated the time many of you took to add comments that motivate us to make changes, that appreciate the changes that were made, and that encourage the work we are doing together.
With the pathway to the end of the school year pretty well laid out, we have a myriad of details to address. The School Board is working toward holding an Association meeting to elect new Board members, approve the 20/21 budget, and to receive end of the school year committee reports. Plans for graduation and other end of the year events are currently being reviewed by staff and community members to help meet the goals for graduation while still making sure everyone stays healthy. In the coming weeks, we will establish a system for cleaning out lockers and desks as well as return school owned materials and computers.
A great deal of my time involves scenarios for next year. While there are still so many unknowns about the course of the virus and what will be allowed three months from now, it is still important to think about what school will look like if we can get back to “normal.” or if we are required to hybrid model, or if we are going to continue to remote learning, or will we be asked to do all three over the course of the school year. Please be in prayer for those making these plans that they will hear the Lord’s leading. We also give thanks for the way the Lord has protected our immediate community and for the way the community cares for the health of all of its members.
